Elbow

The elbow takes part in almost every action of the arm: from lifting a bag to working at a computer. Repetitive load, sports, or prolonged work can cause pain and limitation.

Here you’ll find information about the common problems in the area.

How I treat elbow pain

Most elbow pain comes from tendon overload, from "tennis elbow" to "golfer's elbow". In the first session I identify the tendon involved and the source of the load, and build a graded loading program that heals rather than just soothes.

Tendon and load assessmentIdentifying the tendon involved and what overloads it at work or in sport.
Manual therapy and pain reliefFocused techniques to settle the sensitive area.
Graded loadingA strengthening program that returns the tendon to full capacity.

Frequently asked questions

No. Office work, physical labor, and repetitive tasks can also cause pain in the area.

Not necessarily. It’s usually better to adjust the load rather than avoid activity completely.

Recovery time varies with the cause and the load, but early treatment can shorten the process.

In many cases, yes. Appropriate training is a significant part of the rehabilitation process.

When to get checked

If the pain interferes with work, gripping, or everyday tasks, or if it doesn’t improve after a few weeks, it’s recommended to get checked and tailor treatment.
