Ankle

The ankle is responsible for our stability in every step, run, and jump. Even a sprain that seems mild can affect confidence in movement if not treated properly.

Here you’ll find information about the common injuries in the area.

How I treat ankle pain

An ankle that sprained once tends to sprain again, unless it is rehabilitated fully. In the first session I test stability, balance and range, and build a plan that restores a truly stable ankle.

Frequently asked questions

Sometimes yes, but in many cases proper rehabilitation is important to reduce the risk of recurrent sprains.

Not by a fixed number of days, but according to healing, function, and the ability to handle load.

That depends on the severity of the injury and the recommendation of the professional who examined you.

Sometimes a rehabilitation process is needed that includes strengthening and improving balance and movement control.

When to get checked

If the pain or swelling doesn’t improve, if it’s hard to bear weight on the leg, or if the ankle keeps 'give way', get a professional assessment.
